PHOS: A Raspberry Pi Robot That Gives Claude Desktop Sensors and Eyes via MCP
jfrankie · reddit · 2026-11-06
Developer jfrankie open-sourced PHOS, a Raspberry Pi robot that gives Claude Desktop physical perception and expressive eyes over MCP. Hardware includes BMP280 (temp/pressure), CCS811 (air quality), MPU6050 (motion) sensors plus an animated-eyes display. A semantic MCP interface and HTTP bridge let Claude act as the agent — requesting sensor data, interpreting it, and triggering expressions/speech — without touching GPIO. Demo: ask "How is the room?" and PHOS reacts with happy or concerned faces based on air quality. Full repo and install docs on GitHub.
