Gauge open-sources CLI as 85% of coding sessions are now agent-initiated

Gauge has open-sourced its Gauge CLI, pitched as a way to "make something agents want." The team reports that over 85% of coding sessions on its platform are now initiated through the CLI by users' coding agents rather than by humans.
Their thesis: a year ago this capability could have justified a SaaS fee or even been the core business, but coding agents changed the game. Users just want their agent to solve problems, and agents pick tools with zero-friction onboarding and upfront legitimate value. The bar to sell software has risen — agents need to try it before users do.
