Prime Intellect Ships Open-Source Prime Agent to Solve LLM Context Rot
blaizedsouza · x · 2026-08-07
Prime Intellect has shipped Prime Agent, a fully open-source, self-improving harness that transforms frontier models into Recursive Language Models (RLMs) to solve the 'context rot' limitation in modern LLMs.
Unlike traditional agents constrained by fixed scaffolding, Prime Agent uses a persistent IPython kernel as its only tool. This makes context a programmable variable and turns sub-agents into ordinary function calls. By avoiding long inputs in the prompt, the model can autonomously grep, partition, and manage data, effectively removing the ceiling imposed by standard frameworks.
