Impasto turns any photo into a palette-knife painting with zero neural networks

Developer donghaxkim released impasto, an open-source tool that transforms any photo into a palette-knife oil painting — with no neural networks and no trained models, relying purely on algorithmic stroke simulation.
A web demo lets you drop or paste (Ctrl+V) your own photo, with three presets and an angle control. In the sample render, a supercar photo was painted with 924 strokes in about 186.6 seconds. Code is available on GitHub.
