User says ChatGPT desktop app eats so much RAM that Claude won't run, now switching
koltregaskes · x · 2026-11-06
The author complains that the ChatGPT desktop app consumes excessive RAM—to the point that he had to fully quit it just to get the Claude desktop app working. Calling the app and its dot-is interface extremely slow, he says he's now planning to make Claude his main AI and has already upgraded his Claude plan, noting that in just a few days Claude has completed far more of the same work he used to give ChatGPT.
