Hardware startup Aina released a $399 smart ring with a screen, a thumb joystick and a mic/speaker, positioned as a portable controller for AI agents:
- Lets you view agent outputs and respond on the go without pulling out your phone; handles calls, voice notes, prompts to agents, and reminders
- Dictates to your Mac via Wispr Flow or Aina's own dictation engine
- The company raised $5.5 million in July and previously built Mirage, a three-key Mac controller that maps keys to on-screen actions
- Robert Scoble, who wore it for a week, praised it: "having a display means your agents can show you things on the run," works well with MetaMuse, though he wishes it had Grok integration
Other smart rings do similar things; Aina's differentiator is the screen + joystick + mic combo.
