Aina Ring launches: $399 screen-equipped AI ring opens preorders

Hardware startup Aina unveiled the Aina Ring, a smart ring with a small display, in early November and opened early-bird preorders starting at $399 (regular price $499). The product is positioned as "a new interaction interface for personal computing" and "a dedicated interface for the AI era"—essentially a wearable controller for AI Agents. Current verdict: preorders are officially open, but whether the "proactively knows you" vision holds up awaits delivery.

Confirmed

• Pricing and availability: preorder from $399, regular $499, consistent across multiple sources (@kimmonismus, @heyshrutimishra, @LinusEkenstam, etc.).
• Hardware design: the ring features a small screen, a joystick-style thumb controller, a microphone, and speakers (added by @Scubberizer), enabling calls and voice notes, letting an Agent display information and respond without pulling out your phone.
• Core feature Cues: the ring learns your schedule, calendar, and behavior patterns to proactively predict likely next actions (e.g., a join-meeting button before a meeting), showing a single suggested action on screen—swipe up to execute. @kimmonismus noted all related data is processed locally on the device.
• @LinusEkenstam personally announced the early-bird preorder launch, making this close to a first-hand source.

Why it matters

• The product turns the debate over "AI Agents needing an approval/interaction entry point" into concrete hardware: the ring form factor aims to solve the pain of phones being too heavy to pull out and voice-only being uncontrollable.
• Emphasizing on-device processing directly addresses the privacy concerns that plague AI wearables.
• At $399, it's pricier than most health-focused smart rings, and its success hinges on whether Cues' proactive suggestions prove genuinely useful.
