Google sunsets coding agent Jules, folds learnings into Antigravity
GoogleLabs · x · 2026-10-30
Google officially announced that Jules, its asynchronous coding agent experiment, is winding down. Launched to explore how background autonomous agents help developers ship faster, Jules' usage patterns directly shaped several developer products across Google.
The learnings will now be folded into Antigravity, creating a unified experience that combines autonomous remote background task execution with an agent-first development environment. Google thanked users who used Jules to crush bugs, write tests, and launch features, saying "the future of agentic coding is just getting started."
