YC open-sources QM agent harness; E2B adds one-command sandbox deploy
badphilosopher · x · 2026-10-29
- Y Combinator open-sourced QM, the multiplayer agent harness it uses internally: everyone and every channel gets scoped memory, files, permissions, and a durable computer for the agent to work on, in Slack or on the web.
- E2B ships two templates — qm-core (runs QM itself) and qm-sandbox (isolated agent computer per person/channel, preloaded with GitHub CLI, AWS CLI, Claude Code, Codex). Deploy with e2b sandbox create qm in 10 minutes.
- Caveat: the QM core sandbox pauses at the 24h timeout instead of stopping; Slack can't wake it, so Slack-heavy teams need an external daily pause/resume job and a Pro plan.
