A $2,490 humanoid and a hosted robot-model API land in the same week

An article from a small robotics lab (ROBOTFLOW LABS) on two pieces of robot-learning infrastructure that landed the same week:
- Faraday Future FF Nova: a 50cm humanoid priced at $2,490 (plus a $390 developer skills package), slashing a hardware bill that used to run tens of thousands of dollars
- Physical Intelligence's Pi API (beta): from the team behind the π0/π0.5 foundation models — upload demonstrations, fine-tune their latest model on managed compute, and deploy via hosted inference
The author argues one fixes the hardware bill and the other fixes the training stack, but neither fixes data — quality demonstration data remains the bottleneck. Physical AI just got a developer tier.
