Google says it might use your Gmail and Photos data to target ads
The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-24
Google updated its privacy policy on October 16, adding an exception to its promise not to use Drive, Gmail, or Google Photos for personalized ads — "unless you choose to make data from these services available to other Google services that support personalized ads."
In practice, anyone who connects these services to AI Mode and other Search tools could see their personal data feed into ad targeting. The change was first spotted by Android Authority.
