OpenTac: open ecosystem for robot tactile skins sensing normal and shear forces
mangahomanga · x · 2026-10-22
mangahomanga introduces OpenTac, an open ecosystem for building custom robot tactile skins that sense both normal and shear forces, so a robot's shape no longer limits its sense of touch. The collaborative project invites the community to build on it; early reactions are enthusiastic about whole-body tactile coverage.
