No paid Notion templates needed: a full second-brain workflow with Claude, Granola and Gmail

AI productivity blogger rubenhassid (96K followers) shared a complete workflow for building a free "second brain" with Claude connectors, replacing paid Notion templates.
Core flow
- Connect Slack, Gmail, and the Granola meeting recorder to Claude via connectors. Granola records transcripts in the background (works on phone, WhatsApp calls, and in-person meetings), keeping all context in one place.
- After each meeting, ask Claude to pull the latest Granola meeting and list deadlines, tasks, and blockers, with explicit instructions to flag anything unclear rather than guess; cross-check older meetings for forgotten changes.
Two key prompts
- Voice profile: have Claude read your last 30 sent emails and produce writing instructions covering greetings, sign-offs, sentence length, go-to phrases, and words you never use.
- Follow-up drafting: combine the Granola meeting with the voice profile to draft a short recap email with decisions, owners, and one clear next step, created as a Gmail draft.
Pre-call prep: before meeting the same person again, ask "What did I promise them? What's still open?"
The one red line: never let Claude auto-send Gmail replies — always review before sending.
