Every product becomes infra: the 'infra plus infra' view of building in the agent era
aishashok14 · x · 2026-10-19
The author argues that traditional company categories—dev tools, AI tools, data platforms, workspaces—are blurring as agent development matures. Every product is also a composable building block:
- Agent harness: the skills, tools, and rules for doing work in a domain
- Context layer: gathering scattered data and making it useful to agents
- System of record: customer history, decisions, documents, and domain knowledge
A customer-research agent might combine one company's workspace, another's model, and a third's data layer—"infra plus infra" becomes the product experience. The key question for builders: what can others build on top of our infra? Product building is starting to look like systems building.
