Dev says Sol 6.1 lags well behind Opus 5.5 on everyday coding tasks
jdjohnson · x · 2026-10-19
In a model comparison thread, @jdjohnson argues that Sol 6.1 does not match Opus 5.5 in completing most day-to-day work correctly and completely — a pretty big gap. He notes the closest OpenAI equivalent is Astra (described in the thread as the "fable"-tier counterpart), which is why people compare Astra to Opus.
- Context: another user suggested Astra should be compared to Sol 6.1, not Opus.
- Personal usage observation, not a formal benchmark.
