Google says hundreds of thousands of brands are using Merchant Center powered UCP (Unified Commerce Platform) to offer direct checkout inside Search Results and AI Search. Actual sightings remain rare — Marie Haynes notes she has only seen Walmart and Wayfair so far.
New UCP integration features announced for Merchant Center include cart transfer to a merchant site and enhanced checkout flow testing with analytics. Rolling out in the US first, with Australia and Canada to follow early next year.
