Apple rebuilds Siri AI around personal data: cross-app context, onscreen awareness, new Watch audio features

Apple has shipped its biggest-ever Siri rebuild. The new Siri AI can finally understand your personal data: it searches email, messages and photos across apps to chain context (find a recipe conversation in texts, pull the emailed version, add ingredients to a reminder list). It adds onscreen awareness, expands Visual Intelligence to iPad, Mac and Vision Pro, embeds writing tools in every text field (mimicking your per-contact style), and gets a standalone app with iCloud-synced conversations. Apple Watch (Series 12/Ultra 4) gains Audio Intelligence, including Live Rewind — double-press the crown to see the last 15 seconds of conversation as text — with Siri Recap summaries arriving in beta by end of 2026.
