Professor Ethan Mollick argues that the current debate over AI in academic journals is too focused on where AI capabilities are today (or were a couple of years ago), severely neglecting where they will almost certainly be in the coming years. He points out that given the multi-year timeline required for academic publication, viewing AI's impact through a static lens is significantly flawed.
