ByteDance Launches Doubao Work, an Office Agent Deeply Integrated with Feishu
ByteDance officially launched a new Agent brand, Doubao Work, on August 25 — the first major product since the Feishu and Doubao teams merged in late July, and the third tech giant to enter the office Agent race after WorkBuddy and Qwen Office. It ships as a standalone desktop client with a new logo, supports one-click Feishu login, and offers a free month of standard membership (with existing subscriptions extended), plus 30 free days for desktop downloads.
Confirmed
- Targets productivity scenarios with document, spreadsheet, PPT, image, video and web generation/editing, including point-and-edit capabilities
- Vision-driven browser and computer operation enables cross-software tasks, phone-to-PC remote control, and Feishu security permissions
- With Feishu enterprise login, the Agent can read Feishu docs, spreadsheets, group chats and meeting notes, manage schedules, and inherit organizational context; Gui Zang's AI Toolbox also reports a dedicated knowledge base
- According to 赛博禅心, the TRAE and Coze teams have been merged into the Doubao Work system
- QbitAI's hands-on found it can read local files and generate style-consistent promo images in about 10 minutes
- 卡尔的AI沃茨 argues it is currently the lowest-barrier Agent access path, avoiding MCP configuration and token expiry issues
- dotey observes that user entry points are shifting from apps to Agents, and that accumulated context — not generic capabilities — is the real moat
- 快鲤鱼 and 创业邦 note Meta is reportedly preparing a consumer agent, Hatch, heating up both office and consumer Agent races
