Chamath: a post-midterm data center freeze would help hyperscalers, hurt compute renters
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-11-08
On the All-In Podcast, Chamath argued that a data center freeze after the midterm election would benefit hyperscalers (Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Google and SpaceX), who already own built data centers and power — a freeze makes their assets scarcer and more valuable. Neoclouds and labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, which need ever more compute to grow, plus anyone renting compute, would be hurt. Full video is on the All-In Podcast YouTube channel.
