India pledges indigenous GPU in 24 months; analyst says EUV access is the real clock

India's MeitY announced plans to develop the country's first indigenous GPU within 24 months. A widely shared analysis compares this to China's 2014-15 GT-series GPU program: those chips shipped roughly 3-4 generations behind Nvidia, bottlenecked mainly by EUV lithography and design-tool access, not talent.
The take: the announcement is real, but the 24-month deadline only becomes a volume-production clock if India secures working EUV access and a genuine foundry partnership before 2028 — otherwise it's just a design-tapeout clock.
