mattturck · x · 2026-11-07
SurrealDB's weekly changelog is headlined by SurrealDB v4, positioned as "the database and memory for every agent," adding PostgreSQL and MySQL SQL support. Also in the batch:
- SurrealDB Earth (beta): serverless SurrealDB on Cloudflare, with a database per agent, user, or customer
- SurrealDS: fault-tolerant distributed storage for Cloud Scale and Enterprise
- JS SQL drivers (@surrealdb/pg, @surrealdb/mysql) compatible with Drizzle, Kysely, and Prisma
- SDK updates: Python 3.0.0 (live queries, auto-reconnect, transactions, query builder), Java 2.2.0 (RocksDB, gRPC), Go 2.0.0, JavaScript 2.2.x
The overarching pitch: databases as first-class agent infrastructure.
