Thinking Machines has released Inkling 2 Small, which scores 31 on the AA Intelligence Index — a big jump over its predecessor.
Nat Lambert calls it the smartest Western open-weight model by a margin: much smaller than Muse Spark Open or Mistral Large, but with a more permissive Apache license. The model is available for fine-tuning and inference on Tinker today, with full weight release planned soon.
