Druckenmiller Likens AI Buildout to 1873 Railroad Panic; Bajarin Points to Perez
BenBajarin · x · 2026-11-06
Investor Stanley Druckenmiller once again predicted the AI infrastructure buildout resembles the railroad buildout and panic of 1873. Ben Bajarin quoted the take and urged anyone forming opinions on the question to study two works: Carlota Perez's Technological Revolutions and Financial Capital and Pástor & Veronesi's paper Technological Revolutions and Stock Prices.
Together they offer the standard academic frameworks for how financial capital cycles through tech revolutions and how stock prices behave during them — useful baseline material for the AI bubble debate.
