'The exploit was the bottleneck': AI agents make skilled cyberattacks cheap for small orgs

A new article by asafez and stephzhang, 'The Exploit Was the Bottleneck': on the last day of August, a single operator pointed hundreds of AI agents at a print-management server used by schools and offices worldwide. Exploitation used to be the bottleneck — AI makes skilled attacks cheap, pulling schools, clinics, and Swedish supermarkets into attackers' reach, while their systems don't get easier to patch. The authors warn a new worm era could mean widespread persistent disruption across thousands of smaller targets; watch how many get hit and how long they stay down.
