Claude Code product lead Cat Wu leaves Anthropic for OpenAI to build agents

Cat Wu, who spent about two years at Anthropic and helped take Claude Code from an internal tool to a shipped product (also contributing to Cowork), is joining OpenAI.
She voiced respect for OpenAI proving that scaling works and bringing AI to over 1 billion people, and will work with Thibault Sottiaux and OpenAI's product team on agents that "have your back while keeping you in control."
