Apple's J595 home robot with robotic arm reportedly eyed at $1,000 for 2027 launch

Per The Information, Apple is developing a home robot (codename J595, possibly sold as HomeView Ultra) with a 9-inch display on a swiveling robotic arm, priced around $1,000 and targeted for 2027-2028. Hardware has been largely done for two years; software and AI remain the bottleneck.
The post lays out Apple's gradual path to humanoid robotics (HomeView → arm display → mobile robot → humanoid) and its Physical AI research stack: ARMADA/EgoDex egocentric data collection (829 hours, 194 tasks), HAT skill transfer, ARMOR perception deployed on Fourier GR-1, ELEGNT/EMOTION social interaction, and MoMo motion intelligence. Morgan Stanley estimates Apple's robotics business could hit $130B annual revenue by 2040.
