OpenAI · youtube · 2026-11-05
OpenAI released GPT-Image-2.6, bringing it to Codex and the API. The 2.6 versions of Flare and Sunburst generate images 50% faster than before.
- Flare: for quick first passes — at low quality it can produce a poster or product shot in as little as 6 seconds
- Sunburst: at medium/high quality, keeps details consistent across edits, e.g. swapping a product's backdrop while preserving shape and texture, or animating a mascot into a looping GIF
