Keeping backgrounds consistent in MiniMax H3 video: five workarounds, none ideal
WEREWOLF_BX13 · reddit · 2026-11-05
A Reddit user struggles with background consistency in MiniMax H3 video generation: a galaxy spiral starts at a character's right side, shifts behind him when he stands up, then reappears on his left in a full shot.
Self-considered workarounds all have tradeoffs: generating a 360° orbit view at scene start (3-5s footage plus 3-6 minutes of generation); attaching 2-4 background images to omni reference (consumes 4/9 slots, fewer characters per scene); letting the model improvise (only viable for open-field scenes); attaching a panoramic reference (ultra-wide ratios confuse the model); or an 8K multiview sheet (hard to indicate which square to use).
He notes MiniMax's spatial awareness reliably keeps small details like a fallen feather, but scaling that to a whole world map of scenery remains unsolved.
