OpenAI's new image model now does GIFs, and the memes started immediately
vista8 · x · 2026-11-05
A user found that OpenAI's new image generation model supports GIF output and used it to recreate a meme: referencing the original video's stage, overalls and dribbling motion, the model produced a 2-second loop of a rooster in overalls dribbling a basketball—even hitting a little shoulder shimmy.
The screenshots suggest the model tracks reference motion and framing well, lowering the bar for making custom meme GIFs.
