OpenAI released GPT-Image-2.6, and the biggest feature may be the buried one: SVG exports, making generated designs ready to use across websites, apps, and print.
Key updates:
- 50% faster image generation; the API offers two variants, Flare and Sunburst
- Flare: as fast as six seconds at low quality, with improved layout for posters, product imagery, and other professional visuals
- Sunburst: higher detail and precision at medium/high quality, with better consistency across edits
- Image markup (already in ChatGPT) comes to the API, letting teams pinpoint exactly where to make changes
