Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) signed a large InP supply agreement with Yunnan Germanium: $194M for 180k 4-inch wafers, roughly $1,077 per wafer. Per the announcement, Yunnan Germanium secured a five-year contract for 900,000 InP wafers, with annual contract value equal to 1.2x its 2025 revenue — a sign of tightening InP substrate supply for optical communications.
