Applied Compute (AC) announced it crossed a $100M annualized revenue run rate just 18 months after starting from zero, and raised $350M at a $3.25B valuation led by Elad Gil.
- 40% of customers use AC for both custom model training and production inference
- Inference serving hit 1T tokens per day only 12 weeks after launch
- Enterprise customers have doubled since the last raise; the team has tripled since January, 85% researchers and engineers
- Customers include Microsoft, Shopify, Harvey, DoorDash, Cognition, Clay, and Decagon
CEO Yann Patil says open models getting really good caused this year's inflection, as customers bring intelligence in-house. He envisions a new inference service that improves with usage: serve tokens, gather traces, create environments, train, and redeploy.
