YC-backed Cyclon ships AI phone OS on Pixel 8a, promising apps that act for you
Scobleizer · x · 2026-11-03
Cyclon (YC F26) is building an "AI phone" whose OS actually drives your existing apps: tell it to handle notifications and it picks the right photos and replies on WhatsApp; ask for a Spanish tutor and it spins up a shareable app friends can rewrite by voice. First batch: a $199 refundable pre-order gets you a Pixel 8a running Cyclon OS within 30 days; its own concept hardware is expected Q2 2027 pending FCC authorization. Scoble's open question: is local data plus real app control enough to pull people off the iPhone?
