NVIDIA's LucidLyra turns a single image into queryable 3D Gaussian scenes
CSProfKGD · x · 2026-11-03
NVIDIA and TU Darmstadt researchers unveiled LucidLyra, a feed-forward framework for generative 3D scene reconstruction with joint understanding.
- Given a single image, it produces a queryable 3D Gaussian scene jointly encoding geometry, appearance, open-vocabulary semantics, and object instances; it also extends to structured dynamic 3D scenes from video input.
- Training distills knowledge from a camera-controlled video diffusion backbone plus frozen 2D vision foundation models, using the backbone's generated videos.
- Target applications: physical AI simulation, 3D scene editing, and 3D asset mining for robotics.
Paper is out; code coming soon.
