Archon Robotics, a Shanghai embodied-AI startup from UniAD and Huawei ADS veterans, wants to be China's OpenAI for humanoids

Archon Robotics, a Shanghai embodied-AI startup, is building a 'Whole-Body Intelligence' generalist humanoid foundation model in three stages: pretraining on large-scale human whole-body motion data, a context-aware behavioral foundation model for stable loco-manipulation, and efficient post-training on real-robot data. Founders come from end-to-end autonomous driving: Hongyang Li (HKU, led UniAD) as Founder/CRO and Tianyu Li, a core architect of Huawei's ADS 4.0, as CEO. It aims to be 'the OpenAI for humanoid robotics in China.'
