Anthropic silently adds server-side rule to Claude Code banning game recreations
cedric_chee · x · 2026-10-31
Users spotted a new server-pushed rule ("tenguheronbrook", Oct 27) in Claude Code that can't be disabled: build original games, genre games, or games from the user's own designs — but don't recreate specific existing games, even renamed or called original. steipete argues this is why you should run your own harness instead of one where vendors can change what's allowed at will. The change sparks debate over whether game rewrites and modding are effectively banned.
