Anthropic quietly adds server-side rule barring Claude Code from recreating existing games
jasonkneen · x · 2026-10-30
A new rule (flagged "tenguheronbrook") appeared in Claude Code around Oct 27, pushed from Anthropic's servers with no opt-out setting. The rule: build original games, genre games, or games from the user's own designs and assets — but never recreate a specific existing game, even renamed or claimed as original. The move targets the wave of "rewrite classic games with Claude Code" projects and raises questions about the future of game rewrites and modding via coding agents.
