Hugging Face ships safeagents to stop coding agents from touching your credentials

Hugging Face's Lysandre Marais raises a pointed question: your coding agent has your terminal, and your terminal has your credentials — but should it? He argues agents also shouldn't upload to clouds without being asked.
The team (yb2698, nathanhabib1011) built safeagents, an open-source tool that blocks coding agents from accessing local credentials or silently uploading data, handing the security boundary back to the user.
