Arm outlines native Arm dev workflow with GitHub Copilot CLI and Arm64 CI
caolonghua · x · 2026-10-30
Arm has outlined a workflow for running AI coding agents natively on Arm:
- Native agent execution: GitHub Copilot CLI runs on organization-controlled Arm compute to edit code, run project commands, execute tests and investigate failures. Remote Control lets developers steer a session from another device while commands keep running natively on Arm.
- Review and validation: Changes go through GitHub pull requests, with automated builds and tests on Arm64 runners.
- The pitch: Working on the target architecture surfaces architecture-specific dependency and runtime issues earlier, and real hardware measurements can guide optimization.
Arm stresses developers remain responsible for reviewing and validating agent-generated changes.
