Switch: open-source harness framework lets decision models like Jev drive agent loops
iamrobotbear · x · 2026-10-30
Switch (osolmaz/switch, MIT licensed) is a framework for building harnesses around decision models like Jev, which can't emit tool calls on their own and thus can't plug into coding-agent harnesses like PID.
Instead, Switch generates the candidate next steps programmatically: you define a domain with a state and functions that derive a finite set of choices from it; the model just picks one step at a time until it can answer. Shipped example domains include chess and rubric-based eval judging — essentially standardizing the multi-step decision-model agent loop many people are already vibe-coding.
