SpAItial launches Echo-3: minutes of phone capture become real-scale 3D Gaussian Splat worlds
rmbrualla · x · 2026-10-30
SpAItial released Echo-3, its latest world model: walk around a space with your phone for a few minutes and it reconstructs a photorealistic Gaussian Splat scene at real-world scale — measurable, explorable, and shareable via a browser link. Flow: guided capture → generation → explore/measure/share.
XR practitioner GabRoXR, after testing, argues Gaussian Splatting is "a solved problem" (or nearly): consumer 360 cameras, phones, or AI world models that generate measurable, real-scale environments now all work, with big implications for robotic simulation. Remaining fidelity gaps will likely close within months; the bigger open question is applications.
