Neuralink turns an ALS patient's thoughts into speech as he orders coffee via Bloom app
XFreeze · x · 2026-10-30
Neuralink demonstrated a striking new use of its brain implant: Kenneth, an ALS patient, ordered coffee using only his thoughts. The Neuralink Bloom mobile app reads what he intends to say and speaks it aloud through his phone—no typing, no speaking, just thought-to-voice. The demo is being framed as literally restoring independence for the patient (@Cyborg21).
