Openjutsu: open-source ComfyUI one-click video character swap using MiniMax H3, fully local
Devajyoti1231 · reddit · 2026-10-30
Developer Devajyoti released Openjutsu for ComfyUI's Open Source Higgsfield challenge—a free, fully local, MIT-licensed alternative to Higgsfield's Genjutsu character swap, built largely with Claude.
What it does: upload a video plus a photo and it swaps the person in clip by clip while keeping the original audio. Extra modes cover object swap/removal/background change, image-to-video, face and color fixing, plus a beta relight feature.
Pipeline:
- Next.js app talking to ComfyUI via its SDK and comfy-api-proxy
- MiniMax H3 for video generation
- Qwen3-VL 8B watches frames and writes prompts automatically
- SAM masks the person in each clip
- Long videos split into overlapping clips and stitched back
Setup is install custom nodes/models, start ComfyUI, double-click startopenjutsu.bat; the app verifies dependencies before each run.
