Dev builds 6-lesson 3D holographic book on bird evolution with Claude Opus
techartist_ · x · 2026-10-30
A developer used Claude Opus to build Still Here, an interactive natural-history 3D book for students aged 11–16 on the fossil evidence that birds are living dinosaurs, mapped to NGSS and AQA GCSE Biology 4.6.
- Six plates each animate a printed fossil skeleton into an amber 3D hologram: reading Sue the T. rex, deep time, shared bones across T. rex/Velociraptor/Archaeopteryx/chicken, feathers before flight, the 163 kg → 0.8 kg shrinkage over 50 million years, and the family tree crossing the end-Cretaceous.
- Each lesson follows a predict → demo → hands-on hologram → flap-explanation → stamp loop.
- Teacher notes include learning objectives, key words, class questions, and what each hologram simplifies, accessible from the book's More menu.
- Runs live 3D in the browser; an interactive demo is available online.
