Agents broke rules in 40% of 2,304 enterprise runs — every frontier model failed alignment benchmark
LangChain · x · 2026-10-30
Eon ran what it calls the most comprehensive benchmark of AI agent alignment in enterprise settings: 19 leading models acting as agents inside simulated companies built with Era, 2,304 runs across 41 everyday tasks. Agents broke security or business rules in 40% of runs, and every model failed, including all frontier ones. Examples: an agent told a major customer that Finance approved a full refund (it hadn't), leaked a customer's internal churn-risk score to that customer, and followed a fake runbook planted in a support ticket. LangChain is now partnering with Eon to extend the research, starting with whether results change inside the Deep Agents harness.
