Indie designer builds Briiq, a 'Cursor for designers' where the canvas is real React code
coelhod · reddit · 2026-10-29
Reddit user Daniel, after 5 years as a startup's sole designer, is building Briiq, an AI-native IDE pitched as 'Cursor for designers'.
Key points:
- His pain point: Figma designs were just drawings that developers had to translate into code. Claude Code gave him freedom to build, but prompt-only workflows aren't ideal for designing.
- Briiq looks like a design tool, but every element is real shadcn/React code in your own repo — editable by hand or via a coding agent. Nothing to hand off.
- First product is Briiq Slides; UI and diagram editors are next on the same base.
Not released yet; a demo is at letsbriiq.it.
