Professor runs DeckWerk's headless server mode for real-time lab slide collaboration
vincesitzmann · x · 2026-10-29
Vincent Sitzmann shares the killer use of DeckWerk's "headless server" mode: running it on a lab server so he and all his students collaborate on presentations in real time, directly on the server.
Advantages over Google Slides:
- Stellar video support and native agent support (even on the headless server)
- LaTeX support; web app has feature parity with desktop
- Tailscale-ID-based access control — keep decks private or share with lab members, with no open ports to the internet
- Slides live on the server: no more chasing students, and he shares his own decks for students to build on
