VLM Run's SystemOne API extracts JSON fields up to 3.7x faster than schema mode
spillai · x · 2026-10-29
VLM Run launched a new structured extraction interface for its SystemOne API: fields like dates, numbers, and lists are read in parallel and returned typed, or null when missing. On the same VLM backbone, it's up to 3.7x faster than constrained JSON-schema extraction and 3.3x faster than JSON mode.
It supports native PDFs (up to 16 pages), images, and text inputs. The team argues JSON/schema modes are inefficient for simple vision tasks like invoice extraction, and preview low-latency image/video streaming support coming in following weeks.
