Pydantic Author Samuel Colvin on Setting Up Feedback Loops for Code-Writing Models
samuelcolvin · x · 2026-10-29
Samuel Colvin, creator of Pydantic, presented at FastAPI Conf on practical ways to set up feedback loops that help models write better code. One slide also made a notable point on capability trends: there is no mechanistic model saying models will keep getting more intelligent — indeed one says they won't — but the industry historically found ingenious ways to keep Moore's law going. "It's dumb to assume models will keep getting more intelligent, and dumb to assume they won't!"
